Project Overview
This new home situated to take in spectacular views of Los Alamos encapsulates the modern spirit of the Southwest. A split-level ± 1600 SF house is located over a ground floor, and is optimally grounded into a steep site of Loam and rock. An open plan with attached deck and private courtyard accessed from both private and public sections of the house emphasize a multipurpose use of space.
Project Gallery
Passive solar design captures ample natural light, and working in conjunction are sustainable methods such as photovoltaic panels and high r-value insulation. Color palette and materiality are inspired by the local surroundings, which contextually tie-in the design to the roots of the mountainous region of Los Alamos.
