A contemporary 3200 SF house situated upon a challenging site and concise building envelope captures incredible views of the Jemez and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Cutting into the earth and organized around a central spine that ascends from the basement level, an open plan with several terraced decks around the house create a comfortable flow between indoor and outdoor living.
Natural stucco color, blackened and rusted steel, colored concrete, and natural stone terracing reflect and augment the existing materiality of the site. Rain water collection and passive solar techniques add a sustainable touch. Future art studio planned for forthcoming phase.
