The Munk house, built of straw bales, with earthen floors, mud-plastered walls, and pine ceilings, evokes the feeling of old handmade adobe houses of the region.

Although closely linked to indigenous buildings, the house is decidedly contemporary due to the spare detailing and the expansive volume of the core.
