Visitors’ Placita
Alcade, NM
2004
This 140-acre site along the Rio Grande played an important role in the prehistoric era and Spanish Colonial history of the region, once serving as the County Seat of Rio Arriba County.
Spears Horn Architects collaborated with the Los Luceros Foundation to design a visitors’ placita including a reception salle, canteena, gift shops and restrooms. The cluster of adobe buildings are Spanish colonial in form with contemporary elements.
