Upper Camp Lodge

Southern Colorado
2009

Project Overview

Located in Southern Colorado at about 8500 feet elevation near the San Juan National Forest, the Lodge is an existing single story log cabin built in the 1910’s and in recent years has been used for private guests and hunting groups. Several of the log walls and both of the stone / masonry fireplaces settled substantially due to inadequate or no foundations over the decades.

Project Gallery

The Architect restored the U-shaped building which consists of a Great Room, Dining Hall, Serving + Reading Room, Kitchen, Pantry, Bath, and long outdoor Porch. Original materials such as logs, wood flooring, much of the windows and doors were reused / restored to retain the original character of the house. New materials / elements were carefully considered to blend harmoniously with the existing building.
