The Santa Fe Community Convention Center is a 74,362 SF new building with 187.869 SF of new parking located one block north of the Plaza int he heart of Santa Fe’s Historic District. This competition winning project is LEED Gold certified. Beginning in the early stages of schematic design, the competition adn through the completion of construction documents, the complex functional requirements of the City of Santa Fe, the LEED green building requirements, and the necessities of working within the context of historic downtown Santa Fe were integrated. When completed, the new Civic Center will provide exciting new facilities for conventions, exhibits, and meetings for the City of Santa Fe and the local community.
Some of the sustainable building strategies implemented in The Santa Fe Community Convention Center include: energy efficiency in the building envelop and systems, rainwater collection for landscape irrigation, a green roof, water conserving fixtures, waterless urinals, extensive daylighting for energy savings and a healthier indoor environment, low-toxicity building materials for construction products and finishes, and use of certified wood products.
